Use Bing API in your SEO software and get unlimited access to Bing data
After the new Bing search engine came to replace Microsoft's old Live Search and MSN, we adjusted SEO PowerSuite software to support this new search engine in most of its local versions.
Together with the new search engine, Microsoft has also re-architected its API. Now we're offered Bing API version 2, and that means that you will need the new Bing API keys 2.0 for your software — which SEO PowerSuite now supports.
The best news is, at the moment one Bing API key allows a totally unlimited number of queries. So as soon as you get one API key (that's free) you're fine with this one and can use it in all your SEO PowerSuite tools.
Note: if you've been running Rank Tracker, WebSite Auditor or LinkAssistant with the old Bing (MSN) API, due to Microsoft's changes now this one (API version 1) does not work! To continue gathering your SEO data through API key, you absolutely need to replace your old keys with the new one.
Please follow these instructions to get the new Bing API key (that's free):
- Go to this page:
Note: if you do not have a Windows Live ID you will need to sign up first.
- Fill out the fields (it is not critical what you enter there) and hit Agree.
- Wait till you are redirected to the webpage where you will see your new Bing API key under Application name and AppID. Copy this key.
- Now please go to Preferences -> Search Engines API Keys in Rank Tracker and WebSite Auditor and to Preferences -> Search Engine Settings -> Search Engines API Keys in LinkAssistant and paste this key under Use Bing API Key to query Microsoft API safely.
- Hit OK in Preferences and from now on you're absolutely safe when doing Bing checks with your SEO software.
