Hello,
the Rank tracker KEI-analysis, which is based on the yahoo-keyword-suggestion tool doesn't work.
Is there a solution to this problem?
For now I have to use the free web ceo tool for KEI-analysis instead.
Thanks
Dan

Hi danbin,
you can see it yourself right now, Overture (Yahoo! Suggestion tool) that provides KEI is currently down:
inventory.overture.com
As for WebCEO you're talking about, they must be using some other data from a source we cannot guess, or old Overture data.
We cannot influence Overture, and Yahoo! engineers keep silent on when it's going to work again. This happened a number of times, and normally it took about a week before it got fixed. So all we can do is wait til it resumes working.
On our side, we're thinking of other mechanisms to extract KEI, and we're going to make appropriate changes in the software in the future. _________________ Search Engine Optimization Software

I think Yahoo may have permanently killed the inventory tool. They bought Overture a long time ago and they are trying to kill that brand name. So that leads me to ask what you guys are going to do if Yahoo DOSN'T bring that tool back? How will you calculate KEI? Time to partner with WordTracker perhaps? Please respond.

I agree,
Wordtracker is the solution, anyway by far Wordtracker results are many times more accurate than overture. I have never used the overture keyword suggestions tool.
I have been a Wordtracker paid user for almost 4 years now, and I am happy with the keywords results they provide, and I am sure that integrating Wordtracker to Rank Tracker would make Rank Tracker a very powerful tool itself.
I have tested both KeywordsAnalyzer and KeywordElite, and they simply are bad software that never get updated, and they are only "good" for adwords campaigns while I am always more interested in keyword research for organic results, plus their interface is really bad, and they are very slow when downloading data from the net, and they don't allow you to use APIs. On the other hand, I love Rank Tracker, for its reports, though it is really slow when I search for the 1,000 results at either search engine, but I only use that when I create a new page for a new keyword I am trying to rank.
I think adding Wordtracker to Rank Tracker will make it a first choice for keyword analysis besides rank tracking which does excellent already, and I just posted about this asking for it in a future update to allow us to use our data log files to mine for keywords that we don't know our visitors use and for which we could rank well if compared to Wordtracker results, and also analyzed by Rank Tracker. _________________ Passwords Manager: Roboform!

How can you say that wordtracker is better than overture if you haven't used overture? Wordtracker is nearly worthless in my opinion - they gather their data from limited sources; metacrawler and dogpile - which gives you a really small sample of data. Not to mention their synonym generation creates too many non-relevant terms and prolongs the entire selection process.
Why you wouldn't go to the straight to the source is beyond me...

Hi everyone.
As I already mentioned there's more excited buzz than common sence in the community about Google's new feature. The first analysis shows that Google's data isn't that precise as we'd all wish. We're looking at it closer and analyzing the possibility to let our customers use it within our Rank Tracker tool. _________________ Search Engine Optimization Software

I am unable to update the KEI for my projects. Rank Tracker returns "0" for competition. Did Google change something? _________________ Chiropractic Twin Cities
