Outbound Email Error Thu Apr 12, 2007 2:10 pm

Hi,

We are hosting a client with OneWebHosting.com , and trying to use their POP3 to send emails through Link Assistant.

Here is the error we get: Could not connect to SMTP host: mail.change-leaders.com, port: 25, response: -1

Do you know what we should do? The inbound email is working just fine.

Thanks,

Ben

The error is

Invalid Addresses;
nested exception is:
class com.sun.mail.smtp.SMTPAddressFailedException: 553 sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts (#5.7.1)

How can we fix this?

Thanks,

Ben

Ben,

I'm afraid the problem is with your mail provider.

Some of our users already experienced the same problem some time ago, and we've found out that in all these cases users where unable to send emails from ANY mail client (like MS Outlook or Apple Mail) -- not just from LinkAssistant. In most cases these problem were easily solved after they contacted their mail providers.

And here's what your hoster OneWebHosting.com says on this error.

So, most probably you simply need to check the "Requires Authentication" option in LinkAssistant's mail settings (please use the "Use POP3 Account Settings" as well).

Please let me know if this helps.
