MacOsX Edition: 'Page to check' URL messed up with additiona Mon Jul 24, 2006 9:12 pm
yella
Today I encountered the following problem: I created a new project and added partner via the search websites that already link to me.

I found some partner BUT the URLs for the page to check have some 'unwanted addtions'.

One example is this URL:http://www.webkatalog-linkliste.de/Wellness_und_Kosmetik/Massage/" gping="/GLinkPing.aspx?/_1_9SE/1?http://www.webkatalog-linkliste.de/Wellness_und_Kosmetik/Massage/&&
DI=293&IG=211ba16dccec453ca626b24d949a9eaf&POS=8&CM=WPU&CE=8&CS=AWP&SR=8&sample=0

(Which is unreachable)
This site would actually be correct:
http://www.webkatalog-linkliste.de/Wellness_und_Kosmetik/Massage.

Scan status indicated 'Scan successful' - so it must have been correct at one point.

Additionally this seems to happen with an older project as well to already longer existing partners, Eeks! And, while scanning and sorting partners I noticed that some partners lost the data in the 'site to check' field while the scan result still said 'Scan successful' .

I think I run into a bigger problem here ...

As already mentioned in the subject, I use Link Assistant 2.3 for MacOsX.
Beside that I had a greater number of projects open today than other days, nothing unusual beside that.

puzzled, Yella

Could you please provide me with more details:
- what search engine(s) did you use?
- what was the domain you used in your project (I mean the domain for which you were looking for links) (if you don't wish to post it here - please send me a private message or simply send a short email to support@link-assistant.com)

I'm sure that tis is not a big problem and a reasonable solution will be found quite fast Wink

Please don't panic, Yella... Wink We have just found this problem: every time you find new link partners automatically (i.e. not by entering them manually via "Add partner" button) - scan status is set to "Scan successful" instead of "Not yet scanned".

So, the solution is to scan link partners right after you found them - this ensures that your scan status is valid for all just-found partners.

Thanks for pointing this - we're preparing a hot patch to fix these (and some other) problems. It'll become available pretty soon - in a couple of days.

all: google, yahoo, MSN. But some more testing showed the (new) messy ones are from MSN.

The link I am talking about was already older and scanned more often, I sent you a screenshot along with the other data.

Yella, I can't but admit that your where right and this problem could happen while trying to use the MSN search engine, but this has already been fixed in LA 2.3.2

Thank you for your help.
