it would be great to have a batch tool to i.e. move a bunch of sites into a category, or change status etc.

Good question Wink This is already possible. Here's how you do what you're talking about: select the sites you need (use Shift or Ctrl to select multiple sites), then click the Update button. Then you can select which status to assign to all these selected sites, or to which category to move them etc.
