They don't seem to be 'getting backl' safe to say that their product is likely to have a TOTALLY lousy review on my SEO blog. I am not how I might appear, I am a top level SEO, and have been conducting tests on lots of different SEO tools and software . Such a shame as well, as this one appeared to hold promise.

New version fine? Sat May 10, 2008 2:58 pm

I agree that 48 hours with no answer stinks, but I'm cutting them some slack because of the time difference and possible weekend? Just a guess...

I'm running the enterprise version, and starting it this morning (now Sat 8 am my time), it pulled an an update of May 8 - I got plenty of results for Y and G, so not sure why there are so many people with this problem.

I was only checking the forum to see if there were any new answers to my problem, which was not showing all the PR for pages if I check multiple domains / multiple engines.

as a pretyy much "top level SEO" I would encourage you to be patient and wait for a response before giving it a bad review, as I'm sure they'll resolve - although again, hey guys, 48 hours?!?! What's up?

Then again, maybe you should go ahead and slam 'em - Wink As a user for nearly two years, I want less people using, because it's so vastly superior to SEO Elite or anything else I've tried, and that means less competition...

Don't worry, nothing is going to be published until the software has been fully tested Very Happy it is diappointing that nothing has been done though, and really doesn't bode well. maybe paying customers have had a better response via the ticket system Smile

Is there some other software I can download and try?
My SpyGlass still returns no links. Looking for a tool that I can type my URL in and see what backlinks I have and what PR they are for that page and for that domain.

Thanks, Steve

There is no point in using the other two as MSn is crap and Google doesn't report all the backlinks it knows about.

Hi everyone, and sorry for this delay in response. Cyber49, you were right - admins were off for the weekend. We apologize for the inconvenience that it caused.

The last update that was issued on May, 8th, included fixes due to Yahoo! and Google algo changes. Version 3.2.6 of SEO SpyGlass is now working properly.

However, the update also concerned the Yahoo! API key algo change which happened recently. Since then, we recommend our users to use a Yahoo! API key in the software. A Yahoo! API key is free and fast to obtain, and using it is the most reliable way to run a Yahoo! search. Here is an article in our knowledgebase that will tell you how to get it:

Still Google reports 1,000 links, and these make sence to know. As for MSN, if you read this blogpost you will understand what's wrong:
http://blogs.msdn.com/livesearch/archive/2007/03/28/we-are-flattered-but.aspx

So recently, MSN removed the link: command and though they promiced that we'll get it back, this hasn't happened so far. Therefore, it is very hard for the software to extract data from MSN. We are trying to use other mechanisms for extracting data. Sometimes it works but sometimes it fails though. We are working to improve the software and also we hope that MSN will return the link: command, as promised.

And once again, do not forget to get a Yahoo! API key and enter it in Preferences -> Search Engenes API Keys...

Great reply, and thanks.

Apologies if the 'others are crap' comment was offensive, what I meant was that they are not an accurate reflection, and not having Yahoo data is a tragedy Smile

I will get on with things now and evaluate it again.

Hope you had a good weekend
