SEO PowerSuite installation requirements

SEO PowerSuite consists of four separate tools:

All these tools are written using the latest Java technology, so you must have the latest Java Runtime Environment (JRE) Version 1.6 or later (available at http://www.java.com/ web site) installed before you install SEO PowerSuite.

If you are installing for Mac OS X, you already have Apple's JRE installed. Apple Computer supplies their own version of Java. Use the Software Update feature (available on the Apple menu) to check that you have the most up-to-date version of Java for your Mac.

Windows users should visit the http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp page to download and install Java.

Linux users should use the original Java from Sun Microsystems (which is now a subsidiary of Oracle Corporation) and should visit the http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp page to download and install Sun's Java.

Windows Installation Instructions

Install:

Download the zip archive and unpack it somewhere on your hard disk.
Run the installation program (setup.exe) and follow the instructions.

Run:

As SEO PowerSuite includes four tools you will have four icons on your desktop for the tools:

WebSite Auditor
SEO SpyGlass
LinkAssistant
To run any of the applications just double-click the corresponding product icon on your desktop or run the corresponding .exe file (ranktracker.exe, websiteauditor.exe, seospyglass.exe, linkassistant.exe) from the folder where you installed SEO PowerSuite.

Notes:

If you do not have a Java virtual machine 1.6 or later installed, be sure to download and install it before installing SEO PowerSuite or download the version with JRE included.

System Requirements:

Windows 7/Vista/XP/2000/2003/2008; Windows 7/Vista recommended.
PC with 600 MHz or higher processor clock speed recommended; 300 MHz minimum required (single or dual processor system); Intel Pentium/Celeron family, or AMD K6/Athlon/Duron family, or compatible processor recommended.
1024 megabytes (MB) of RAM or higher recommended (512 MB minimum supported; may limit performance).
200 megabytes (MB) of available hard disk space.
Super VGA (1024 x 768) or higher-resolution video adapter and monitor.
56 Kbps dial-up connection minimum required; broadband Internet connection recommended.

Mac OS X Installation Instructions

Install:

Download the tar.gz archive and save it somewhere on your hard disk.
Unpack the downloaded tar.gz archive by double-clicking the tar.gz icon — a "SEO PowerSuite Installer" application will be extracted from this archive.
Double-click the "SEO PowerSuite Installer" application and follow further instructions.

Run:

As SEO PowerSuite includes four tools you will have four icons for the tools in the "/Applications/SEO PowerSuite" folder:

To run other applications from the SEO PowerSuite pack just double-click the appropriate icon in the "/Applications/SEO PowerSuite" folder.

Linux/UNIX Installation Instructions

Install:

Download the tar.gz archive and unpack it somewhere on your hard disk;
Change to the directory where you unpacked the archive, and run the installer: ./install.sh (as a super-user);
Follow the instructions on the screen.

Run:

Open a terminal emulator such as xterm and issue one of the following commands: ranktracker, seospyglass, websiteauditor or linkassistant.

Notes:

If you do not have a Java virtual machine 1.6 or later installed, be sure to download and install it before installing any of SEO PowerSuite tools.
