Tip to integrate Link Assistant with Joomla Sun Apr 15, 2007 1:37 pm
Comenius
Like many I suspect, I use the Joomla CMS. I was struggling to find a "one click" method to incorporate the Link Assistant generated links page into my site without resorting to using iFrames or manually copying and pasting.

I finally stumbled on what I think is a fairly elegant solution:

1. Configure your links page to strip out the entire HEAD section and the BODY tags as well. You just want it to generate the html of the links themselves.
2. Generate and automatically upload the links page to your web directory, somewhere within your Joomla path.
3. Install and enable the Jumi plugin (mambot) available at:
http://www.vedeme.cz/index.php?option=com_content&task=category&sectionid=10&id=41&Itemid=123
4. Create and publish a content item within Joomla where your links page will be located
5. Within the content item, use Jumi to include the static html file generated by Link Assistant using its {jumi [path/filename.html]} syntax.
6. If needed, create a menu item pointing to your Joomla content item so visitors can get to it.
7. Browse to your Joomla content item. If everything worked correctly, you'll see your Link Assistant links page within it.

Presto!

Hope this helps some other folks do this more quickly than me. Smile

Comenius,
Interesting, I'm an Open Source fan but right now am on Vodahost using their Blue Voda website builder and while it's OK it has some severe limitations so I'm going to check out Joomla.
Thanks for the tip!
