SWOT Analysis Of A Typical Start-Up Social Media Strategy

January 1st, 2016 | Olga Filonchuk

Name:

Do you remember how scared you were when you first learned how to swim? Do you remember how exactly your body attempted to move and react to a changing surrounding?

First you were probably panicking, and then you were trying to move just as if you were touching the ground. Finally you gave up and learned to do it quite the other way round.

You developed a new muscle memory and realized that swimming and walking have very little in common but both activities can be equally fun.

Practically any social media strategy has a resembling life circle.

Firstly you don't have a clue what's this all Twitter/Facebook/Google+ is about and want to run away to cold-calling, constant spam emails and sales pitches like my-name-is-Jeff-and-we-guarantee-you-number-one-position-in-Google-in-two-weeks-or-your-money-back.

Then you're trying to do Social Media just as if it were any other old traditional type of Marketing, but the problem is that it's not old, it's not traditional and it's not straight-forward.

Eventually you learn how to do, what I personally call, the right thing and become more or less decent in Social Media, but that's not what I am going to talk about.

The transition from each phase is painful, scary and soaked with sweat. The goal of this article is trying to understand what we are or were all doing wrong on the second base (I mean SMM, not love affairs).

What Social Sites Give You Dofollow Links? Here Are the Top 10 of This Year

August 1st, 2013 | Alesia Krush

Name:

When you share stuff on Facebook, Twitter or other social networks, are the links you get in return counted by Google?

In fact, most links that come from social media sites are nofollow, that is, they don't pass any PageRank value to the pages they're pointing to.

Are there exception? Absolutely! Check out my latest post on Social Media Today that provides a list of top 10 social sites that give marketers an opportunity not only to share their content on social networks, but also to get dofollow links from those sites!

Monthly SMM Ninja Plan: Neo Lessons

May 29th, 2013 | Olga Filonchuk

Name:

The information flow on Social Media is enormous, strong as a flood and fatal for your personal and working time like a hurricane. Yes, it's almost a natural phenomenon where you have little control without proper beforehand planning and which development curve has already acquired a negative tendency.

Before you look at the comics and then hurry up to close the tab with this article, I just want to confirm it's not a WWBD (what would Buffy do) post (WWND - what would Neo do - in our case). We're trying to dig deeper and suggest you on applying feasible solutions to your ambitious SMM month plan that looks usually like this:

Social Media Comics

You know multitasking, I know multitasking and Neo is the king of multitasking, but who cares if you just don't have time for everything? Aha, you think that this is what to-do lists are for: to help you manage your activities. But before we talk about your activities, let's focus on your goals first. Read more »
